For today’s group activity, students learned about foreign countries. To determine which country they would research, they were blindfolded and asked to place a pin on a map. Countries they selected included China, Mexico, Angola, Uzbekistan, Iceland, Morocco, Yemen, and Argentina.
They then worked with their tutors, using encyclopedias and iPhones, to gather information. They researched basic facts, such as population, government structure, and geographical location, and thought about questions they would ask other kids from those countries.
At the end, the students presented their findings to the group. Even we tutors learned a few things about other countries today!
