During today’s activity, we talked about democratic governments and elections. At the end of this year, Americans will vote to select a President. Before the elections, the candidates campaign and talk about why they are the best person for the job.
To demonstrate what an election campaign is like, we split up into groups and put together a campaign to run for School President. What is the name of our party? What is our campaign slogan? If we were in charge of the school, what would we do?
After talking about these ideas, everyone designed posters and presented their campaign promises to the group. Normally after a campaign there is an election, but our kids did such a great job presenting, we decided they would all make excellent School Presidents!
