This Saturday in West LA, we took a short field trip down the street to the Donald Bruce Kaufman (Brentwood) branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. Our students read along with the children’s librarian, Christina Young, and even got to make loud noises in the normally quiet library. She also told them about the library system and encouraged everyone to get a library card of their own.
At Let’s Read, we have been participating in the library’s Summer Reading Program, which has helped us to track our student’s progress. As a reward for our outstanding readers, the library gave each of our students a free book to take home!
We visited the library earlier this year and look forward to another trip in the fall!
